Position: Site Engineer

This job started as a volunteer position. I was hired on after a year of volunteer work.

Created an Ohio and world map using ArcGIS to represent sample sites associated with the Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River WetlandResearch Park. Excel worksheets were created for each map with coordinates, names and other relevant information. The excel worksheets were imported into ArcMap followed by creating shapefiles. The map shows points of each sample sites along with site names. See samples below.

Document hydrology in two wetlands, pond and a swale. I also record water inlet sprouts and remove debris from all outlets.

Monitor water quality using EXO2 Sonde. This involves retrieving device from water by utilizing Bluetooth to upload the data from EXO2 into KorEXO Software on laptop. After completing these tasks, they are returned to the water for future data collection. Clean device as needed. This task is completed once a week.

Designed a PowerPoint presentation that reflects 14 Ohio wetlands. Conducted internet research on wetlands to gather attractions and facts of each wetland. Created maps with ArcGIS showing location of wetland in Ohio for each slide. See sample below or complete PowerPoint here.

Perform tasks involving GIS, hydrology monitoring, restoration & construction projects, construct research testing projects, computer programs such as PowerPoint and Excel and other tasks needed completed.
